Shashank brings over two decades of technology leadership across global financial institutions — Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, SMFG and IDFC First Bank — spanning Silicon Valley, Wall Street, London, Singapore and Mumbai, in organisation-wide engineering and architecture leadership roles.
He serves on the board of a leading NBFC and a growing agri-eCommerce company, and on advisory councils for state governments and academia on FinTech and AI. He founded WhyMinds AI after seeing that the most consequential risk in regulated financial services — third-party and outsourcing compliance — was being managed with tools fundamentally inadequate for the regulatory environment now emerging. RegAhead is the platform he built to close that gap; WhyMinds is the venture co-builder that brings the same accountability to every enterprise.
Vinayak leads Operations, Risk and Information Security for WhyMinds AI and RegAhead. A veteran of the Indian Navy, he served for over two decades leading IT governance and information security — securing premier defence and critical-infrastructure platforms and collaborating with ISRO and French and Russian defence manufacturers.
Before WhyMinds, he was a senior leader in Enterprise Risk Management and Information Security at a Tier 1 private bank. He brings defence-grade security architecture, institutional risk discipline and operational resilience — and pairs it with hands-on operating rigour, anchoring how everything WhyMinds builds is secured, governed and delivered to regulated institutions.
